the windows at the back of my house (laundry room/bathroom) dont have screens. but it's too hot right now not to leave them open....and the back windows are like...12 feet up off the ground. so nobody's gettin' in without a ladder.

anyway, the cats jump out the windows all the time....usually come back in the front door.

when i came home yesterday, our neighbor jay stopped me. said he woke up at 3am that morning (fell asleep in his music studio), and when he got up to go to bed, he heard skritchy-scratchy noises coming from our house. when he looked he saw bear (our black cat) leap from the back porch railing to the window (about 5 feet), rock climb her way across the wall...and climb back in thru the window. used her claws as pitons.....

i tried to explain about the covert missions, and utmost secrecy...he didnt get it. so i sent the cat to take him out...too much of a liability
