Miss Bonnie has this thing where she really loves to lick me all over my face. Maybe its the salt, but she also likes to try and lick my lips too, which aren't salty. Anyways, she's got a super raspy tongue and it can get kind of uncomfortable, but its just so cute that I just let her exfoliate my face. Sometimes she'll even wake me up in the middle of the night to do this. She always makes sure I'm awake first by head butting me until I wake up. Then she just goes for it. Anyone else have cats that like to do this?

snowy licks when she wants you to pet her and she's on you or if she's having a cleaning session and you stick your hand in her way - then she'll clean you.
miss bonnie sounds adorable though, you're one of the pack purity!

Hitler will occasionally get the urge to groom me thoroughly too, but she's very gentle. Eric licks like he's trying to sandpaper all the hair off my skin. Yowch. So though it's cute, and he doesn't like anyone else enough to do it to other people (what a mama's boy, really!), I don't allow him to do it too often or for too long. -

Thu, August 26, 2004 - 8:11 AMLupin used to lick my face all the time--and she had the raspiest tounge. Peeps does it gently--she likes to sniff my eyeballs (!?) and then groom around my eyes, forehead and eyebrows. Her tounge is softer, but it's still a cat's tounge.
Has anyone else noted that long-haired cats (who have softer, finer fur) have softer tounges than their short-haired counterparts? Or is this just my babes?
Oh and Blue rarely licks me. But he constantly makes biscuits/muffins with his claws out.
